UK, Dudley, Co. WorcestershireJames Wilkinson 1812 Copper Penny Token.  20.38 g.; 34 mm.; edge centre grained left \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; medal orientation.  Withers 735; Davis 7.  A POUND NOTE FOR 240 TOKENS * around line circle enclosing JAMs WILKINSON VICE MAKER around a vice.  The N in NOTE is doubled and the innermost part of the diagonal at the centre of the vice intersects at the corner; the outermost edge strikes the right side of the rectangle.  Rx.  DUDLEY ONE PENNY TOKEN around; in centre, within a single line circle, an anvil pointing to the left, 1812 below.

Extremely Fine w even dark chocolate brown surfaces, well centered and struck. $140.
