Bank of Ireland 8th Issue, 1838 - 1842, Twenty one classical Medusa Heads across the top issue, w two 75 mm high standing portraits of Hibernia to the sides.  Date, 4 Jan 1842; Serial No. C / A 48827 left and 48827 C / A right; signature A. Brett.

Blake BA 31; Pick 35; 219 x 126 mm.; uniface, black on white.  Watermark, BANK OF / IRELAND curved 2 lines w date 1838 between, the date the paper was made.

PCGS Fine 12.  One of the best preserved early Bank of Ireland issues.  Free of marks, save a small ink spot to the back, and a neat blue ink endorsement to the back, the edges relatively crisp and genuine.  One pin hole to the far right margin.  Very Rare for both early type and condition.  $14K.
