Additional Details
Bank of Ireland Medusa Heads One Pound, Twelfth Issue 1881-1905, the plate used to print, in red, the date and Dublin, and the 4 lines of branches, shortened on the sides to avoid overlapping the statues of Hibernia.   This the first date to exhibit this new feature, 29 Oct 1881, which remained unchanged until 1904-1905.  Serial No. A/33 60665; Signature J. Craig; 217 x 128 mm.  Three line large central Watermark, BANK OF / 1881 / IRELAND, w top and bottom lines curved.  Blake BA51; Pick 62.

The Pick listing seems to be in error, listing dates, signed by J. Craig, beginning w 29.11.1881, clearly meaning 29.10.1881.  Blake Callaway, p. 115, lists 4 dates w J. Craig's signature, this the first.  The Blake Callaway listing needs be updated, as well, as the shortened 4 line red design of this note clearly extends the Twelfth Issue, to 1881 to 1905, rather than 1883 to 1905, an error also seen in Pick.

PCGS Fine 15.  Extremely appealing, evenly circulated, free of edge blemishes.  Unfaded vibrant red and black colors.  Three tiny pin holes along the central fold.  Few very light discolorations.  Rare,  and especially rare this nice.  $6K.
